It takes a lot to beat the feeling and excitement of seeing your teams hard work and effort being printed right before your very eyes. It’s been a very stressful event for all involved, but it’s rewarding to be able to hold some of the pages in your hands knowing its going to be completed for others to read in less than a week.

 

Six days prior to the magazine’s launch, half of the Platfform team were taken on a grand tour around the print centre and the warehouse to see the process from a blank printing plate to the mixing of the CMYK ink, from the pages starting to print and develop to the gluing and binding of the whole publication. I’m not quite sure what I imagined the process to entail, but I never envisioned it all to be so vast and there to be such a large volume of machinery.

 

Rumour has it that a fair few of the chaps working on the magazine printing reported problems of the magazine being printed wrong and back to front. No, my friend, that was us being daring and throwing everyone a bit of a curveball. I bet you didn’t see that coming, did you?
